Specialized in traditional baking and food practices of indigenous farmers in Palestine. Through her craft, she honors ancient pastries, weaving seasonality, community, and the deliberate rhythm of working with her hands into her creations. Baking came natural to Dalia. It is a craft mastered by her mother and grandmother. Both known in their communities for their skill and delicious baking. Growing up, scenes of kneading were regular in her family kitchen. The elegant movement of her mother’s hands with the dough were imprinted in her childhood memory forever. Dalia started baking when she moved to live in the UAE 13 years ago, guided by voice notes, messages and snippets of memory. Embracing her ancestors’ intricate art of baking unveiled a way of life deeply rooted in harmony with nature, a universal wisdom that transcends borders. The journey evolved from a quest for cultural preservation to a path of self exploration and advocacy. An invitation to slow down, reconnect with one another, the earth, and the natural rhythm of life, recognizing interconnectedness as the only way forward.
